Scott G. Kranz

Scott Kranz is a managing director and principal of Strategica, a national merchant banking organization whose principals have completed financings in excess of $30 billion.

He is a recognized leader in various segments of the financial services industry, such as syndication of financial products and corporate and project finance. He successfully orchestrated the raising of over $1.5 billion of equity capital for his own principal transactions through Wall Street and regional investment banking firms. This syndicate group encompasses 300 investment firms with over 20,000 registered representatives and financial planners. In addition to developing and coordinating one of the largest networks of broker-dealer and financial planners in the United States, Mr. Kranz created training and marketing programs, due diligence meeting procedures, and financial public relations and advertising campaigns. As an investor, Mr. Kranz specializes in creating and enhancing shareholder value for companies and serves on the board of several companies.

Mr. Kranz has more than 30 years of industry experience, including serving as chairman of Ameristate Savings Bank and implementing its successful operations and charter divestiture. He served as president of Crico Securities and as executive vice president of CRI Corporation, an international financial services and real estate investment company with a $4 billion portfolio of residential and commercial properties. Included in his executive charter was the direct supervision of investor relations for over 80,000 investors. He also served as president and chief executive officer of Related Real Estate Funds and Related Securities Corporation. These companies are subsidiaries of The Related Companies, an internationally recognized full service real estate organization with a real estate portfolio value in excess of $3 billion and $2 billion in various development stages.

As the senior officer of the subsidiaries and member of the executive committee of the Related Companies, he was directly responsible for creating the financial products marketing division. Related raised $1.3 billion in equity, utilizing 225 limited partnerships that included 75,000 investors. Mr. Kranz also served as director of Real Estate Financial Corporation’s subsidiary and acted as general partner to many of Real Estate Financial’s partnerships. He served as president of U.S. Capital Securities, Inc., the broker-dealer arm of Real Estate Financial. He was directly responsible for the total coordination of $250 million in equity raised by Real Estate Financial.

In addition to the sales and marketing of REF’s financial products, Mr. Kranz was responsible for acquisitions, operations, management, financing and finally the divestiture of over 2,000,000 square feet of shopping centers and the sale of commercial real estate valued at over $100 million located throughout the United States. Mr. Kranz was also the president of Southmark/Envicon. Southmark Corporation was the largest syndicator of securitized real estate transactions in America. Mr. Kranz holds a real estate broker’s license and a securities principal’s license. He has participated in numerous sophisticated corporate restructurings, including the re-structuring and sale of the largest private cable company in America as well as the ninth largest paging company in the United States.

Mr. Kranz is a cum laude graduate of Rutgers University and received an MBA degree from Rutgers Graduate School of Business. He is active in community and professional organizations and has had the distinct honor of serving six consecutive terms on the national board of directors of the International Association of Financial Planners, holding positions as treasurer and executive committee member. He is the past chairman, president and founder of the South Florida IAFP Chapter. Mr. Kranz served as a director of the Association for Corporate Growth, South Florida Chapter, and is a director of the Turnaround Management Association, South Florida Chapter. Mr. Kranz is a frequent lecturer and author for numerous financial services industry events.
